If you’re still searching for admission to study in Ukraine, then read this article carefully. Even if you have already secured your admission, you might also share in our experience during our first batch students’ recruitment exercise.
On 22/03/2011, we started our first batch students recruitment for the 2011 / 2012 academic year. So, we reviewed a few of our partner universities, and planned to review more as we progressed in the recruitment exercise. By the way, some of the admissions / invitation letters resulting from that exercise were published on our website and Facebook page, and below is one of them. If you want to see more, click on the following links to our Website or to our Facebook page. Don’t worry, they will both open in a new window.
However, things got out of control…., the response was unprecedented, and as a matter of fact, overshot our anticipated target response. We immediately realized we couldn’t continue with further university reviews as we simply couldn’t handle more students. As a result, we temporarily suspended further students recruitment and concentrated on helping our existing students get on their feet.
Some of our partners that knew the inside scoop of what was going on were suggesting we continue recruiting as many students as possible, afterall, that will translate to more money in our bank account
. Although our infrastructure could comfortably handle any amount of students, educational consulting is not about technology alone. With our existing in-house “consultant to students optimal ratio” already overshot, we knew that additional students will only lead to poor student’s and admission experience, as well as unnecessary strain, stress and work pressure on our consultants.
So, we declined the temptation of more money at the expense of our students’ pleasant experience. Further recruitment was then slated to take place only after we have helped our existing students get on their feet. Actually, we expected this to be fast enough…, of course we also don’t despise the idea of making more money.
However, another unexpected surprise happened. This time around, it came from the Ukrainian authorities. You see, each admission / invitation letter for any international student must be backed up with a “visa support letter”, which is a confidential document, that is sent directly to the embassy, without which the embassy is not at liberty to process a study visa for the student.
Usually, the maximum duration for sending out this letter to the concerned embassy would be within a period of two weeks after the issuance of the admission / invitation letter. Also, for every academic year, the ministry of external affairs normally started sending this letter from April / May. However, that was for every other academic year, except the 2011 / 2012 academic year.
In the 2011 / 2012 academic year, this letter was delayed for just too long. Explanations weren’t forthcoming either, and most people were left with more questions than answers. We were one of those. With most of our students fully ready for embassy application, the absence of this visa support letter meant we weren’t done yet with our students, as they were yet to be fully on their feet.
Again, we also had to suspend another recruitment, and be patient until we had our students up and running. Even though this decision wasn’t helping our ROI, however it was in line with our corporate work ethics, to put our client’s satisfaction first. Sure, we did process a few admissions here and there from referrals and associates, but it was nothing massive. Overall, we waited patiently for things to finally fall in place.
This unexpected “incubation” period of long waiting was very boring as it was hard to tell exactly when it will be over.
Anyway, by middle of July, we started receiving signals that the waiting will soon be over. Towards end of July, the letters started reflecting at the embassies, and we are happy to inform you that most of our students are currently applying for their visa application. We have also been able to record a success testimonial of visa issuance for this academic year, and yes, you can also see this on the wall of our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/tostudyinukraine
And now, we are ready and about to start our second batch students recruitment exercise. This time around, we will be recruiting for multiple universities in one of the best cities in Ukraine.
There are quite a couple of things to note:
1) We are committed to our students pleasant admission experience, and will make sacrifices to ensure that.
2) Our second batch students’ recruitment exercise will be starting soon.
3) Once we have the number of students we can comfortably handle, given our existing human resources irrespective of our robust infrastructural platform’s capacity, we will discontinue recruitment and continue working with our existing students in-house.
4) This might be your chance to become part of our band-wagon, if you are serious about your university education in Ukraine.
However, we do not want to send future admission mails to people who are not interested in this. Unsolicited emails sucks. So, if you want to roll along with us in this next admission exercise, then all you need to do is just fill the form below. Further guidelines will be sent only to those who have signalled their interest by filling the form below.
So, just go ahead and fill the form below, if you are serious about securing your Ukraine admission for the 2011 / 2012 via the OguCS team and expertise. And yes, we’ll take it up from there.
And by the way, if you haven’t yet done so, you might also want to join our Study in Ukraine Facebook page: www.facebook.com/tostudyinukraine so you see our updates and notification via your news feed. It never hurts to have multiple means of communication
Cheers and thank you for your time.
